Updated: Dec 15, 2024

CMIA Executive Director John Feeley participated in a panel discussion December 3 on the future of the United States and U.S.-Mexico bilateral relations under the upcoming Donald Trump administration. Drawing on his long career as U.S. Ambassador serving in Latin America and the Caribbean, Feeley predicted difficult and conflict-ridden times ahead for most countries and governments in the region.

His fellow panelist was the Director of the Aspen Institute in Mexico, Ambassador Enrique Berruga Filloy, former Mexican Vice Foreign Secretary. Both participants stressed the need to advocate for freedom of expression and a free press, especially in the United States and Mexico
